Curriculum Depth

Our Maths Assessment system is the most in depth e-Assessment system on the market for primary school maths, rich and deep enough for high confidence assessment.

The system is designed specifically for the 2014 national curriculum mathematics programmes of study for KS1 and KS2 and is future proof for further curriculum changes.

How Deep?

20,000 questions, and counting, have been carefully crafted for all the sub-strands1 of the KS1 and KS2 mathematics programmes of study. On average around 100 questions within eight different question types of different style and difficulty have been produced for each sub-strand and for each year group, for example 4N4b round any number to the nearest 10, 100 or 1000.

This depth tests for full understanding of the many topics and therefore ensures teachers, leaders, parents and pupils know exactly where any gaps in understanding exist, perhaps for example for column subtraction with a zero in the top number? This detail is instantly available to teachers and leaders for whole classes and individual pupils via live results, trackers and analysis features – all fully automated.

Enabling

It's the full breadth and depth of the maths curriculum coverage by our Maths Assessment system that facilitates its confident implementation for so many applications across the numeracy domain within primary schools.

Teachers can quickly choose the test, practice or homework content by selecting any sub-strands they wish and can also differentiate for groups of pupils. This could be a single sub-strand for rich formative assessment of the pupil’s specific understanding just after the topic has been taught or many sub-strands for an end of term summative test.

Furthermore, the extensive and deep coverage of all the topics within the curriculum enables our e-assessment system to be used in class as an interactive textbook and for maths homework with different questions being provided each time. All this automatically marked, analysed and tracked saving teachers vast amounts of time in preparation, marking, analysis and feedback.

Up-to-Date

We're always striving to keep our question bank as current and up-to-date as possible. We take leads from policy, professionals and of course the latest SATS papers to provide you with our range of top quality questions.

Unlike with printed materials, we can keep our software right up-to-date, for example we've already updated our money questions to the new pound coin and polymer £5, £10 and £20 notes.

Support and Planning

Our support documents for each year group in KS1 and KS2 precisely support the new English national curriculum mathematics programmes of study. Each details every sub-strand of the curriculum and provides linked supporting strands from the previous 2 years study programme content for quick reference. This is particularly useful for timely intervention.

Our sample mid-term planning documents have been produced for each year group in KS1 and KS2. Each provides an example annual scheme of formative assessment using our e-Assessment system that provides high confidence, in depth testing of all the curriculum sub-strands throughout the year. This ensures no stone is unturned and the true picture of each pupil’s current achievements and knowledge gaps are always at your fingertips.

NOTES:

1. The following sub-strands requiring physical activity only are not included within the question bank:

3G3a - Draw 2-D shapes.

3G3b - Make 3D shapes using modelling material; recognise 3D shapes in different orientations and describe them.

6G3a - Draw 2-D shapes using given dimensions and angles.
